SUM A ...
We had a very tough match vs Spurs...
One day less rest than them...a long coach ride to Pool...
Missing our best CB's RB...17yr old CB marking Lukaku......3rd string Front man...
Some reasons why we looked second best for a lot of the game...
The early error by Oxford vs Lukaku set us back...and he was a handful until he took the pen,,,and went off...

I've been fortunate to watch Lionel Messi live twice and he's been absolutely brilliant.
However, whenever I watch him on telly he's shit. Because you don't see the game properly. Apparently.

Definitely agree with Adrian being Man of the Match, his saves were crucial.

At times yesterday, it looked like we were the team playing with 10 men.
Don't get me wrong, It's great that we came back back from 2 -0 down to win 3- 2 in the last 12 minutes. That's a sign of a top, top team - but come on now, we made hard work of it against a team with 10 men.
That's not a criticism by the way, I don't expect us to play great every week. We should be extremely proud of the players for plugging away and snatching victory from the jaws of defeat!!!

Personally felt that Cresswell put in a serious shift down the left and delivered various quality balls that Eminike didn't get on the end of. He also played the ball in for the winner.
Then again - I watched on a stream and you really don't get the full sense of a game watching on tele.

Great last 20 mins when Everton ran out of steam and started to fear the worst, which I never saw coming for one moment. The introduction of Sakho made a difference. Until then we were working hard but struggling with our final ball against 10 men. The quality was not there but the penalty miss and Antonio goal turned the game as they had looked the more likely for 60 odd minutes of the game even with 10 men.
We need Reid back though as we missed Ginge and Reid should be for next weekend I think. Good timing for sure.
They all get a 10 for tenacity and belief though. Certainly confounding this 57 year West Ham following pessimist :-)

Oi Fordy, there's some top-notch self-awareness coaches on here you might want to consult on this.
Meanwhile I thought Mark NOBLE was 2nd MOTM just for his true leadership captaincy.

Cresswell put in some cracking balls yesterday unfortunately our strikers wasn't in good enough positions to take advantage.
Another reason why stats are a load of shit in most cases.
KIA will never get his large nut round it though.

Reply collyrob 2:44 Sun Mar 6 Re: Players ratings..... Just because a ball doesn't reach the striker it doesn't mean it wasn't a good ball, if it's whipped in with pace to a good area and the striker doesn't make the proper run its still a good ball.
I wouldn't bother mate after all its I LIKE A DRINK AND FALL UPSTAIRS KIA you are talking.

He put in a few that were in that space behind the defence but too good for the keeper to take, perfect crosses
A natural goal scorer would have profited not his fault

Croe, keep doing the ratings it's a good thread for discussion about the game and also good for games you don't see personally I don't think he actually criticized cresswell

You don't have to get so petty. I don't think anyone is personally attacking you.
If you had have just said "maybe I was wrong about the crosses" that would have been that, but you dug your heels in and lashed out at "armchair fans".

"Croe you having a mare here "
Haha if you say so
Still wont be having a "mare" in the future
Maybe you can start a "rating from your armchair" thread for future games.

These games where payet is 'quiet' i think people are under estimating the effect he is having by just being on the pitch gaining alot of attention from the opposition
